Church of Christ

Our beliefs are based entirely upon the Bible, the inspired Word of God. We strive to speak where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent.   We are a New Testament Church

God Created the Earth and the Universe

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Psalm 104:24  O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

God's Son, the Word, was with Him in the Beginning

John 1:1-5  1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2The same was in the beginning with God.    3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.   4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.    5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

God Sent His Son to Die for our Sins

John 3:16-17  16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Salvation - What does the Bible Say

Mark 16:15-16   15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 2:36-40   36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.    37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?  38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.  40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Romans 1:1-11 1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,   2(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)  3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;  4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:  5By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 6Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: 7To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. 9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; 10Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. 11For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

Romans 10:1-3  1Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

II Peter 3:9   The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Warnings from our Heavenly Father and His Son

Matthew 7:21-23  21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. . 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 15:9, 14  9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Luke 10:16  He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

I Corinthians 1:10     Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

I Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

Galatians 1:6-9  6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

II Thessalonians 1:3-8   3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

II Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of  truth.

II Peter 3:14-16  14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

II John 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Deuteronomy 13:4    You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

Isaiah 29:16     Surely you have things turned around!   Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay;  For shall the thing made say of him who made it,  “ He did not make me”?  Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, “ He has no understanding”?

Proverbs 28:26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.

Proverbs 3:5-6  5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;  6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
